5/24 – Princess Diana to star in “The Body Guard II”
No, but it might have been an actual headline years ago.
In a rather peculiar article released a month ago, actor Kevin Costner (#13 FCIR) revealed that Princess Diana (#3 FEAL) was in talks to star in a sequel to The Bodyguard before her tragic death. Costner said in an interview with Anderson Cooper (#13), “‘Diana and I had been talking about doing Bodyguard 2. I told her I would take care of her just the same way that I took
care of Whitney … She let me know that her life might be changing at some point, so she was having her own internal struggles.” He then went on to say, “When she died, she was obviously all over the news. I knew that that was an interesting story that I had, but I never brought that up and a very good reporter, about a year later, somehow heard something and finally came to me and I said, ‘Yeah, that was true.’” Costner says Diana told him plainly, “I am interested.”
On the surface this seems like a blockbuster idea. To have the princess in a leading role of a movie would surely bring large audiences to the theaters. While this may be true, how would Diana have performed? Would she be another Whitney Houston (#9 FCAR)? While Diana was perfectly suited for her life as a princess, engaging people in conversation and devoting herself to humanitarian work around the world, her attempt in acting could have proven poorly, to say the least. All to say, BTI has not yet found one #3 FEAL in Hollywood (Empiricals in general are a rare site). Granted, lower down the totem pole one might be able to find a few with small roles, but discovering one at the very top would be quite a feat. While we can think of Loretta Lynn in singing, Nancy Kerrigan in skating, or even James Dobson in counseling, the Left-brain dominant here-and-now #3 is not geared for Hollyweird (which is somewhat of a good thing).
We mean no disrespect to the princess, but rather the utmost respect. What you see in the #3 FEAL is often what you get, as they are not as adept in dawning personality masks like your #9, #13, or #15. The heavily dominant Left brain FEALs are not adept at all in Right brain improvisational abstract logic, which is essential for optimal acting. FCIRs are the masters here.
As a side note, former husband Prince Charles (#16 BCIL) could potentially act (Warren Beatty), or even Diana’s two sons, #15 FCIL William (Charlton Heston) and #1 FEAR Harry (Jennifer Lopez). For Diana, however, she was just perfect for her role in reality.
