Any Brain Type can be a junk food eater, for sure, though there are some general tendencies each Brain Type can tend towards. Dominant Right brainers, for instance, do have a greater tendency towards addictions (especially when coupled with aberrant genes. There is one Right brainer who is not only overweight, but is literally killing himself with soft drinks and cigarettes. Most of us know o John Daly (#5 FEIR), the pro golfer who made a name for himself by hitting the long ball back in the 90s. Daly reportedly smokes some 40 cigarettes a day, and chugs down about 10-12 Diet Cokes in the same period of time. He used to drink 26-28 cans a day, that is, until he had his lap-band surgery. “The band won’t allow me to drink as many,” says Daly. “If I don’t have ice, I can’t drink it. I can’t have it straight because of the carbonation. I have to drink it slowly and not out of a can, I need some ice.”
Wow, you talk about living for the moment! The only good news is that Daly has been free from alcohol for 6 years. The popular soft drink is sweetened with aspartame, which can cause a myriad of problems, from migraine headaches to Alzhermer’s to brain tumors. That much carbonation alone, too, generally isn’t good for your body (bone health). Of course, smoking cigarettes doesn’t even require our attention for this article.
Daly is addicted, for sure. Sadly, it usually takes a major health scare for someone like him to change his ways. Some folks are born with good genetics and can get away with a lot, while others last only a little awhile until they succumb to disease or some other physical condition. We just hope Daly’s “health scare” is something from which he will be able to recover.

Ick.
While I think some of the claims about aspartame could possibly be exaggerated (very little controlled variable studies about it in humans), I would concur that, at the very least, it’s certainly not a “natural” substance we want to consume that much of daily/Daly (pun intended). With that in mind, I’ve tried to get my folks off Diet Coke with little success (as a teenager, as the only non-smoker in the family, I did get them off cigarettes and saved my mom from dying of COPD, according to one of her doctors). However, they don’t drink as much of it as Daly does, at least. Getting my FCIR dad to eat proper caloric amounts each day has also been a losing battle (my mom is far better about this). But my mom eats more fiber and natural foods now.
I annoy much of my family for trying to provoke healthier habits a lot (which really aren’t that great, relatively speaking, compared to organic eaters who eschew all alcohol, etc. – I eat some organic, but I like 2-3 beers a day and must watch that, occasionally eat fast food if not that much, and so forth – much better than the average American, sure, but I’m not a Seventh Day Adventist), but they are also thankful for the fact that my somewhat C. Everett Koop tendencies have probably saved them a few years of life, among avoidance of other health ailments.
