He likely shares the same Brain Type as King David of ancient Israel.  And, like King David, he enjoys promoting what he is passionate about.  The only problem is, not everyone shares that same passion for the Bible.

We’re talking about NFL quarterback Drew Brees (#9 FCAR), and as one news blurb reads, “New Orleans Saints star quarterback Drew Brees is taking heat from left-leaning media after he was featured in a recent video clip shared by the socially conservative Christian organization Focus on the Family encouraging kids to bring their Bibles to school.”

Yes, that’s right.  October 3rd has been designated as “Bring Your Bible to School Day” and was launched in 2014 by Focus on the Family to encourage students to “celebrate religious freedom and share God’s love with their friends.”  Seems harmless enough, and in commemoration of this year’s event a 22-second video titled “Shout Out From Drew Brees” was released showing the 12-time pro-bowler encouraging kids to take part in the national Bible movement.  “For we live by faith not by sight” shares Brees from the book of Corinthians, “so I want to encourage you to live out your faith on ‘Bring your Bible to School Day’ and share God’s love with friends.  You’re not alone.”

The Left isn’t happy.  ‘The Big Easy’ Magazine in response launched the Twitter hashtag #SaintsDon’tHate in order to pressure Brees over his support for Focus on the Family.  Pro-LGBT outlets such as ‘The Advocate’, Patheo’s “Friendly Atheist,” ‘Queerty’ and ‘Newsweek’ have also published articles critical of the video.  For now, our only commentary on the matter is … good for you, Drew, for standing up for what you believe in.  If there is any Brain Type gifted at enthusiastically leading the charge via their inner Pied Piper and beckoning others to follow, it is the #9 FCAR.  Hopefully many young people will be encouraged by Drew’s example.
