She is apparently a big fan of the “Green New Deal,” proposed legislation that would get rid of airplanes and see the U.S. killing cows that pass too much gas. To her credit, though, this woman is putting her time and money where her mouth is, having become the face of ‘Fire Drill Fridays‘, a weekly climate change protest in Washington D.C. Last week, in fact, was the third week in a row that she has been arrested at the event (for unlawfully demonstrating in the intersection of East Capitol and First Streets). No, this is not some unknown extreme environmentalist wacko. She is in fact Jane Fonda.
“We have to behave like our house is on fire, because it is,” says Fonda (#15 FCIL), as she was among 32 people arrested last Friday for “unlawfully demonstrating in the intersection of East Capitol and First Streets”. Guess who was among the other 32 arrested? Mr. Ted Danson, the lovable #9 FCAR from “Cheers” of yesteryear. Here we have two celebrities of two different personalities (ibut vastly Brain Types) coming together for a similar cause, and happily being arrested for it. Of course, “Hanoi Jane” Fonda has never been one to shy away from controversy. Remember also when Fonda got angry with fellow #15 Megyn Kelly not long ago for mentioning her face-lift? The feud didn’t stop there, with Kelly later saying she is not “in the market for a lesson from Jane Fonda on what is and is not appropriate.” Kelly then went on to criticize Fonda for her outspoken role in the Vietnam War. “After all, this is a woman who is synonymous with outrage. Look at her treatment of our military during the Vietnam War. Many of our veterans still call her ‘Hanoi Jane’ thanks to her radio broadcasts which attempted to shame American troops.”
By the way, did you happen to catch Fonda’s latest flick with co-star Robert Redford (#11 FCAL), “Our Souls At Night”? It’s not too often you have two Q3 Left brainers starring in the same movie together!
