ABOUT THESE INTERVIEWS

These are two representative examples for this Brain Type. Please note that these interviews are only provided as a sample of what someone with this design might be like. They are not sufficient for training you how to accurately distinguish this Brain Type from others. The ‘Brain Type Trainer’ video training program has a much more in-depth visual perspective and commentary for each Brain Type. The ‘Brain Type Trainer’ is the optimal training tool for learning how to accurately evaluate each of the 16 inborn designs. Visit the i-Store Learning Center for more information on how to order the Brain Type Trainer and other learning aids available from BT Enterprises.

ABOUT THESE MOTOR SKILL VIDEOS

One major facet that separates Brain Types from any prior understanding of human behavior and performance is the motor skills connection.  While these videos are provided to aid BTInsiders in visually identifying each Brain Type’s motor skills, they are only provided as samples of how each design might/can move (variations will result due to previous athletic training, nurture, and genetic variables).  They are not sufficient for training you how to accurately distinguish each Brain Type from another.  Videos posted, however, will reflect particular motor skill traits conducive with the individual’s inborn design, more or less.

This well-liked person is a leader who nurtures growth and maturity in others.  The #11 FCAL is gifted in persuasive speech, setting out to improve the lives of those around him or her, and the world in general.  Creatively visualizing the direction a group should go, FCALs are able to motivate many to follow.  Cooperation and harmony are valued by them, and they consider personal relationships to be of utmost importance.  Prone to depression as they overload themselves with the concerns of others as well as self, FCALs can struggle to keep emotions under control.  They are idealistic when it comes to love and friendship, and can become disillusioned with a less than perfect mate or friend.  Nonetheless, as people who desire to consider the positive and hopeful side of life, FCALs try to concentrate in this realm.  Charismatic speakers, FCALs use fluent language skills to communicate their visions.  They frequently become ministers, politicians, and teachers, and are often named in the favorite teacher category.  FCALs like to plan and organize their areas of interest.  They honor their commitments, do well in school, and have the ability to see what is needed for the welfare of the whole group.  If individuals differ in opinion from the FCAL, however, he or she takes it personally as failure and rejection.  As one of the more reserved of the Front-brainers, FCALs may appear less outgoing on a one to one basis.  Given leadership and an audience, however, the FCAL, with practice, can shine and mature into an expressive communicator.  One way to detect FCALs is to notice how much they tend to care about their appearance.  This makes them almost seem like Empiricals.  As females, they want to be thin, contemporary, fashionable, well coiffed and beautiful.  Many FCALs go into acting and become leading ladies and men.  They act attractive and charming.

#11 FCALs seek subjects and material that stimulate their imaginations, especially relating to people.  English, literature, psychology, religion, and communications are all sought out by FCALs.  They can excel at theoretical subjects, especially ones related to humanity.  Occasionally, FCALs venture into the hard sciences where they can find a meaningful life’s vocation.  As Left-brained Conceptuals, highly adept in Wernicke’s semantic processing area, FCALs are adept through inborn DNA at abstract understanding with language.  Words are their specialty and the meanings attached to each.  FCALs can become good writers, a distinct asset in formal education.  They like to read about people.  History interests them, as they are fascinated and inspired by how others lived their lives.  FCALs pursue college majors and vocations that relate closely to people interaction.  FCALs usually enjoy studying and learning with others.  Valuing the sharing of ideas, they are stimulated by group interactions.  FCALs usually learn good study habits and seek to organize their interests.  They often feel frustrated that they aren’t more organized, but compared to most Brain Types, they’re very structured.  Their intense interest in others may distract them from focusing on academics.  The pursuit for popularity may compete with their desire to please their teachers.  FCALs are idealistic people, and often need to associate with Empiricals to balance their dreams.

#11 FCAL children are warm and friendly, obedient to rules and teachers.  They know how to appeal to both children and adults.  Being attracted to athletics, literature, history, drama, music, and art, they put a great deal of energy into their interests.  FCAL children long to be appreciated for their own uniqueness.  Whatever they pursue, it must have meaning and make a difference in the lives of people.  They need time with people—quality time to develop close personal relationships.  Being responsible, FCALs seek to please parents, teachers, and fellow classmates.  They respond well to praise and struggle with criticism.  They can be natural leaders, though not often risk takers.  They have a strong desire to be loved and an intuitive sense of the needs of others which, being met by them, will inspire love in return.  FCALs often become devoted to their friends.  They may, however, put too much pressure on themselves in order to please others and achieve their goals.  Parents must try to lighten the load of guilt an FCAL may put on himself or herself unnecessarily.  To please others, FCALs go out of their way to be encouragers, and this gift takes them into teaching, counseling, and other nurturing careers.  People are drawn to these caring children, and the FCAL child relates well to peers and adults alike.  Family problems will especially affect the attitude of the sensitive FCALs toward themselves, making them hesitant to take risks or be outgoing.  An excessive concern for their own appearance may be a key to knowing you have an FCAL child.  FCALs are easy in most ways to raise, given the right values and encouragement.

With a natural affinity for spiritual matters, FCALs are found in virtually every religious center and congregation.  They often have the Biblical gifts of evangelism, pastor-teacher, giving, mercy, and faith.  Their personal warmth extended to others can easily result in a transfer of ideas, the newcomer being drawn to the convincing faith of the FCAL.  FCALs find special meaning in relating to God.  Prayer can be rich when they take the time to listen to God as well as talking to Him.  Praying with others will be a delight.  Spending time communing with like-minded believers will help them stay in touch with reality and make rational, spiritual decisions.  They may need help with accepting their own imperfections as well as those of others.  FCALs need to be careful to interpret and apply Inanimate “thinking” issues of Scripture.  When they do, they can be outstanding spiritual mentors for entire groups of believers.  FCALs have a strong desire to be accepted by others.  This noble attribute must be kept in balance by seeking God’s acceptance first and foremost.  It is then that wrong compromise and dishonesty can be avoided.

The transparent FCALs seek a mate who will also be transparent.  They idealize relationships and believe they are loved and appreciated as much as they love and appreciate.  One of the most reserved of the Front-brainers, FCALs sometimes hide their outgoingness successfully, but will have full schedules nevertheless.  They love to talk about ideas and dreams, empathizing quickly with others who, in turn, open up easily to them.  The FCAL’s warm countenance and accepting manner makes relationships easy to begin, and keeps them flowing smoothly.  They may have trouble, however, keeping up with the great number of friends they accumulate as they move through life.  As they seek the harmonious and meaningful in life, romance is high on their list of FCAL priorities.  They like things concluded and may often find a mate early in life.  Loyalty is a definite strongpoint of the FCA, both L and R.  As romantics, FCALs are responsive to the quixotic actions of their partner, embracing the sublime world of love and affection.  To court or be courted through poetic conversation, candlelight encounters, or idyllic getaways is valued.   A suitor must be sure the FCAL feels she is one of a kind and unique, not just the latest in a list of potential mates.  The lady must make sure the suitor feels the same.  Like all CAs, FCALs want to be loved for who they are, not for what they can do or for how they might look.  They often send mixed messages, however, since they accomplish much and are usually attractive.  The romantic FCAL epitomizes an ideal marriage partner, and were life a happily-ever-after phenomenon, we would wish one for each marriage.  Since no one and nothing reaches perfection, let’s just say that the FCAL makes a very good choice in the mating game.

Conceptuals are generally not as concerned about their appearance as Empiricals.  FCALs, though Conceptual, tend to contradict this norm.  They often care deeply not only about how they come off verbally to others, but physically, as well.  As dominant Animates, and Front-brainers, FCALs like to express to the world their values.  Outer appearance is often one of their values.  FCALs like to look and feel good.  Most FCALs do not have an issue with weight since they have already worked long and hard on their appearance.  Filling FCALs’ lives with people and activities of interest will distract them from the rigors of dieting.  And don’t forget their needed affection and verbal rewards.  Believe in FCALs and they are capable of great sacrifice.  They may need to get tough with themselves and not be emotional eaters.  Like all CAs, FCALs dislike failing when they undertake a task of interest.  They can be hard on themselves, especially feeling guilt ridden.  Dieting is no exception to this pattern.  The experience of failure causes undue stress, thus the need for FCALs to enjoy the process and focus less on the results (something they don’t do as well as Rs).  In addition, as Animates, FCALs experiencing tension can allow their subjective and sensitive emotions to overcome their objective and logical Inanimate “thinking.”  In this mode, too, the diet plan is in jeopardy.  Though a weight scale can attest to one’s daily success on a diet, it can also point out failures, or seeming failures.  FCALs do best by not concentrating on the scales every day but on the process of their better-health adventure.

FCALs often develop a passion for sports.  They see more in athletics than perfecting their game, or winning and losing; they relate to the people involved in sports in a special way.  Collecting trading cards can almost be like collecting people.  They personalize sports.  FCALs do not possess the superior gross and fine-motor movements of Empiricals or the fluidity and suppleness of Right brainers.  Nonetheless, FCALs can become excellent athletes, particularly if they begin sports early in life.  Throwing with velocity in baseball and football or hitting the ball hard in tennis or baseball is common for FCALs.  Their Brain Type imparts great passion in their games; they love to expend energy.  FCALs’ greatest assets in athletics are determination and hustle.  Their zealousness is infectious to fellow teammates.  FCALs can be viewed as “spark plugs.”  They usually set finesse aside and beat their opponents by more running, jumping, diving, bumping, hustling—whatever it takes.  FCALs are extra hard workers, blue collar athletes.  Defense is often their specialty.  FCALs, like other Conceptuals, are well served by developing their motor movements at an early age.  If they do, they are capable of becoming splendid athletes.  They welcome encouragement and a positive outlook from their associates and coaches.

The stork is a representation of the Personal Imaginers.  The stork’s esteemed reputation is backed by reliable, documented evidence from at least 3,000 years of recorded history.  A number of civilizations and societies took special notice of storks and sought to protect them from harm.  Laws were passed protecting life and limb of these beloved birds.  Even Aristotle, as early as 300 B.C., wrote that the stork was revered in his day for its unique characteristics.  The Romans, too, were enamored with the stork’s attributes.  The Lex Ciconaria, or “Stork’s Law,” was established mandating that children provide for their parents when the latter became elderly and in need.  The Romans, observing how the stork had cared for members of its family, both young and old, legislated their approval for the compassion, sensitivity, and love demonstrated by the bird for its own.

The stork occupies a special place in the Bible, as well.  In the sacred text of the Hebrews, the stork is described as the “pious one.”  The Hebrew word, hasidhah, is the word for stork.  The root word is the noun hesed, which means “lovingkindness, loyal love.”  Hesed is used some 250 times in the Old Testament, particularly in the Psalms, to illustrate the many ways God demonstrates His infinite love for mankind and to depict mans’ kindness to his fellow man.  The comparison of the stork’s love for its family with God’s love for mankind speaks supremely well for the stork.  During biblical times, the stork was considered the most loving of all birds, a fact the Bible plainly recognizes.

Our word, “stork” is actually taken from the ancient Greek storgé, which literally means, “an innate, natural affection.”  This could be best understood by contemplating a mother’s unconditional love for her child.  The definition, however, is broader in meaning.  It connotes an affection capable of being directed to anyone.  C.S. Lewis in The Four Loves states, “It is indeed the least discriminating of loves.”  It isn’t predicated upon looks, intelligence, blood relationship, or age.  The illiterate, grotesque, and the homely can all be recipients of storgé (affection) love.

Thus, whether we base our meaning of the word “stork” from the Hebrew or Greek, or accept the legendary accounts concerning its character, we find that the stork is truly a caring, loving creature.  The Personal Imaginers share this characteristic.  In the wild, storks will shelter their young (and old) from the hot sun or imposing elements with their massive wings.  Storks will travel nearly 50 miles to find and bring back food to the nest—whatever it takes.  They’ll gulp up water from the swamps below their high nests, flying back to shower their babies or parents with cool water.  They’ve even been seen to stay and die in the nest with babies or elderly during a forest fire!

Now Storks don’t act so uprightly all the time, there can be the wayward ones, but most value integrity and encourage others to seek it likewise.  They believe the best about others and value relationships.  They’re devoted to friends, family, and their vocations.  They tend to be romantic, and visionary, and they’re often optimistic about future possibilities.

Storks can also be acrobats and actors with their flying antics; these huge birds can be amazingly agile in the air—so, too, can the Brain Types of this group be acrobatic and actors.  Needless to say, there are many parallels with the amazing stork.

Vocationally, Personal Imaginers often pursue journalism, ministry, motivational speaking, education, health care, and other jobs accentuating their speech and language interests, and their affection for people.  Similar to Doves, Storks are service oriented, but liking to pursue long-term goals as conceptual people, they tend to last longer in academic pursuits than the live-for-today Doves.
