Today country legend Dolly Parton celebrates her 65th birthday. Everything about Ms. Dolly is so vintage #1 FEAR, from her bright smile to her flamboyant clothing to her gift for music. Like many FEARs, she didn’t take too kindly to academics. I hated school. Even to this day, when I see a school bus it’s just depressing to me. The poor little kids. And, like many FEARs, she has struggled with dieting. My weaknesses have always been food and men – in that order. Like her fellow FEAR singer, Elvis Presley, Dolly came from humble beginnings, born to tobacco farmer Robert Parton and his wife Avie in Tennessee. Since then she has become one of the most successful country singers in the world, sporting two Golden Globe nominations (FEARs can act, though not like Conceptuals) and a theme park named after her (Dollywood). Not bad for a country girl! BT

The Smoky Mountain Songbird. The Queen of Country. The Backwoods Barbie. That may be what she’s known as today, but 65 years ago, Dolly Rebecca Parton was born to tobacco farmer Robert Parton and his wife Avie in Tennessee. Since then she’s become one of the most successful country singers in the world, a two-time Golden Globe nominated actress and a theme park owner. click for article
